Circa 1900. A neat sized marble topped ormolu mounted and marquetry French commode, with shaped top in pink variegated marble with moulded fore edge. With a configuration of three shaped, inlaid drawers with a fine beading, rococo handles and exuberant pierced escutcheons, laid on a marquetry panel. The serpentine and bombe shaped sides have a large marquetry panels. Below the bottom drawer is a shaped frieze and a further gilded mount, resting on square and slightly out swept back legs, with cabriole legs with cast and pierced ormolu blocks on the top, chamfered fore edge and finishing on a pair of well-cast sabots to the front.
