Circa 1860, mid Victorian burr walnut fold over card table. The top with a moulded edge is quarter veneered and has unusual crossbanding of boxwood, ebony and amboyna. The interior also has a large crossbanding and is lined with green baize. The top rotates to show a small opening beneath for storing cards. The table stands on four turned and fluted legs which sit atop of four cabriole legs on brass and porcelain castors, which are very stylish and have a mixture of full carving and scratch carving. In the centre is a turned section with a large carved finial. The table is freestanding and has good colour.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
