Circa 1860, mid-Victorian burr walnut, piano topped Davenport desk. With three quarter wraparound, open piece gallery above a hinged lid, which opens to reveal two drawers with satin birch fronts and brass knobs. Inside is a pullout with pen and ink compartments and a hinged writing slope, and within the writing drawer is a small button which releases the piano top. This opens to show a fretwork centre gallery, and to the left side are dummy drawers with a set of real drawers on the right. The back is polished, with a fielded panel in burr walnut. It all stands on 4 brass and porcelain castor feet.
