This is a lovely Old Sheffield Plate salver. The production of Old Sheffield Plate occurred from the latter part of the 18th century until approx the 1840s and was the first form of silver plate. The salver is unmarked but that is not uncommon as for a period of time it was illegal to mark OSP in case it was confused with sterling silver pieces. It measures 31cm in diameter and is decorated with vinous like flowers repeated in the heavier edge of the salver. A minimal bit of wear, fabulous for its age.
