Circa 1800 and later, oval mahogany inlaid tray top table. The top has a raised gallery with string inlay on both sides. The tray itself has matching quarter veneered flame mahogany panels and multiple layers of crossbanding in kingwood, satinwood, boxwood and ebony. Beneath the tray is a deep apron which is again crossbanded and has mouldings above and below it. The whole piece stands on four elegant square tapering legs finishing on nice raised toes. All the legs have satinwood inlay which is on three sides, is rounded at the top and follows the form of legs. Excellent colour and condition. We believe this is a Georgian tray with later added legs to make a stylish side table.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
