Circa 1820. A George IV gilt and painted tryptic overmantel mirror. The stylish top painted and gilded with dentilled and beaded and egg and dart mouldings. The frieze with classic Adam style swags and tails intersected by carved and gilded blocks, the three bevel edge mirrors contained in a painted and ribbed slip, separated by gilded reeded sections. The base with further gilded mouldings resting on a painted plinth with beading on the fore edge following the form of the frame.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
