This is a pair of antique parallel rulers. An English, coromandel and brass articulated draughtsman's instrument, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

• Charming 18" type parallel rulers, ideal for the draughtsman or cartographer
• Displaying a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Coromandel shows deep hues with flashes or warm caramel
• Brass hinges articulate in parallel, operating smoothly
• Of identical type, one marked for Stanley, Great Turnstile, London
• The marked Stanley example personalised on the fascia for a Frederick Haslam
• Further engraved with a name to each end 'JOS BOL' and 'BOLTON' opposite
