pair of burr walnut and brass bedside cabinets

Circa 1880 and alterations. Unusual stylish pair of burr walnut and brass bedside cabinets (adapted). With brass quarter brackets cut into the veneer top and beneath there are 4 graduating drawers. Each of the drawers has military style cast brass handles with a flush pull out. Between each of the drawers there is a brass wrap around L shape plate which continues around the sides giving a military look to the pair of chests. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a flat section, a tapered section and the whole piece stands on an enclosed plinth which is slightly recessed from the moulding on the bottom.
