Circa 1900. A quality pair of mahogany Cellerettes by ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’. The rectangular tops with a stylish cartouche shaped inlaid pattern in the center with quarter matching burr walnut, banded in kingwood with flame mahogany sides. The tops with a simple fore edge are hinged and opens to reveal uninterrupted interior, one has a metal liner. The shaped front with a similar pattern to the top, with curved concave sections and canted corners with flame mahogany facing, the sides with quarter matching flame mahogany and a pair of cast brass French style gilded brass handles with foliate casting on the ends. On the front and sides is a shaped frieze and all resting on four stylish ’Whytock & Reid’, ‘Lorimeresque’ style feet.
