Circa 1910, rare pair of quality walnut etageres/side tables by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. The tables are very similar in style to that of Sir Robert Lorimer. The solid tops have been scooped to form a slightly raised gallery. The ends are in the form of paper fold with solid lifting handles which have a small cut out area underneath. Beneath the top on all sides is a wonderful apron which is shaped and stylish. Beneath this is are two further shelves held in position by half round uprights which are hollow on the inside. The shelves are cut into the uprights. The bottom shelf has a small raised gallery and beneath this another shaped apron, again on all sides. The tables stand on four elegant and simple cabriole legs with a raised foliate carving on the top. Both tables are in excellent condition with wonderful colour. Rare and desirable pieces.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
