Wide French 'Empire' period gilded frame c1800-1820. This uncut frame has bright gilding and may have been regilded but if so was done a long time ago. It has lamb's tongue by the sight edge, a semi burnished hollow and a step up with shot and a running acanthus pattern (with leaf corners) in the second hollow. Rebate size 13 X 20 inches. Width 4 1/4 inches.
