Circa 1815. A quality rosewood Regency sofa table likely by ‘William Trotter of Edinburgh’. The top in mellow finely grained rosewood with broad crossbanding, two deep D shaped flaps. The frieze with two drawers each side, one dummy and one faux, lined in mahogany (a sign of quality), with gilded cast brass flowers in each corner. The table stands on two solid trestle ends braced by a turned carved stretcher issuing four hipped saber legs with gilded brass leaves on the top and finishing with a cast brass toe with acorn leaves on the front and the sides, with original brass castors beneath.
