Circa 1890, rare set of 23 solid oak dining chairs. Recently stained, waxed, polished and re-framed, the chairs have reeded, rounded uprights and a curved and reeded top rail. The central splat has an oval carved paterae in the centre and ribbed section beneath. The drop in seats lead on to slightly outswept back legs and the front legs are turned and ring turned, tapering down to a block and raised, turned toe. The legs are united by H frame stretchers.
