Circa 1890. A quality set of George III style mahogany ladder back dining chairs, consisting of 6 side chairs and 2 armchairs. The shaped, pierced and carved cresting rail with foliate carving on the sides, with 3 shaped and pierced ladder rails, curved arms with scrolling terminals supported on shaped uprights. Each of the chairs has a large stuff over seat, back legs are square and slightly out swept with a slight tapering on the inside and front legs are square with reeded fore-edges, tapering on the inside and the legs braced by conforming stretchers.
