This magnificent silver salt cellar, created by the famous Sazikov firm, is made in the shape of a throne, reflecting traditional Russian motifs of the third quarter of the 19th century. The surface of the product is decorated with an exquisite floral ornament on a gold background with central patterns stylized as a sun, made using the cloisonné enamel technique. Bright color schemes, refined detailing and excellent quality of execution emphasize the highest skill of the enamelers who worked for the Sazikov firm, which held the prestigious title of Supplier to the Imperial Court. Ornamental motifs and virtuoso technique of execution make the product a striking example of decorative and applied art of the neo-Russian revival era.
