This is a small antique lidded pot. A Chinese, carved soapstone opium jar, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900.

• Charming pot with Oriental animal decor to the bulbous finish
• Displays a desirable aged patina throughout
• Tactile soapstone presents a mottled finish with golden and reddish hues
• Each bulb decorated with an iconic Chinese figure - Dragon, bird, turtle and lion
• Foliate decoration to the lid with a Chinese character forming the handle
