CHO DANSU
JAPANESE LEDGER CHEST TANSUKnown as a Cho Dansu (Merchants Ledger chest), this tansu chest was made in the late Edo Era (c. 1850) . Used to store business accessories as well as money, documents and other valuables.
It has 4 drawers
Sliding Doors to further drawer and shelves.
Originally black lacquer with light wood fronts
Sold as a Project piece
It needs refinishing, locks need attention and refitting (I have put 2 extra working locks in)
All very doable with nothing major to make it a very attractive piece.I have more Tansu that need work doing, but at the moment no time.
I am more than happy to let them sit online until I have the time.
