This unique suite of furniture of impressive size was manufactured in Germany, circa 1930. It was made in oaken wood and walnut burl. The suite includes a bookcase and a desk. The whole amazes with the rich variety of elaborately made bas-reliefs.
The bookcase is triple-leaf. Moreover, the bookcase is simple, has a stepped cornice, under which a beautiful floral woodcarving is located, which makes for the frame of the furniture.
The central leaf of the aforementioned bookcase is glazed with beveled glass; the color is neutral. The frame of this leaf is ornamented with carved moldings.
The fronts of the side leaves are veneered with walnut burl, and their central parts are decorated with two carved figures of a man and a woman. The segments of the furniture have been separated from each other by elegant, columnar embossing which connect with a refined, carved base.
The inside of the bookcase hide shelves which heights can be regulated, according to needs.
The bookcase has been placed on a grand, carved base, and four massive legs: the rear are straight, and the front in the form of lion paws.
The desk, which makes for the second piece of presented suite, is two-sided. In the central part of the desk, under its massive, stepped top, is a drawer. Further, there are double-leaf doors on the sides, which have been ornamented with walnut burl. The side frames of the furniture, along with the fronts of the drawers, have been decorated with perfectly made floral ornaments.
The inside of the desk, behind the leaves, hides three sliding drawers (on the left side), and one shelf (on the right). Presented desk is supported on four massive lion paws.
