very fine sterling silver embossed grape fruit bread dish london 1887

On offer here is a very fine Victorian sterling silver grape dish, embossed with floral and scroll decoration, that can also be used for bread rolls or other fruit, hallmarked for Sibray and Hall, London 1887. This firm was noted for the quality and originality of its designs; the beautiful finish, and high class artistic taste (see Culme Directory of Gold and Silversmiths at page 416). This dish, which measures 27 x 20 cms (11 x 8 inches), and weighs a solid 507g, comes in lovely, original condition; no damage or repairs. A stylish, yet functional piece of English Victorian antique silver that can still be used and enjoyed to-day.
