victorian cast brass and gilded hall lantern

Circa 1880, wonderful cast brass and gilded hall lantern. The lantern has an open fretwork crown and shaped top section with Rococo brass castings and shaped curved convex glass. The lantern is 6 sided and has arched panels which are glazed all around. One panel is a hinged door with a small locking mechanism. The bottom of the lantern is also open and in the pure Rococo style, with castings, fretwork and a stylised finial. The chain is cast brass as well. The lantern hasn’t been cleaned and retains its original patina.
