Circa 1860. A mid Victorian mahogany free-standing three-part pedestal desk. The top with a burgundy tooled and gilded leather insert, broad banding and an elegant and stylish moulded fore-edge. The frieze with three drawers, the central drawer with an adjustable slide with a tooled and gilded leather insert, and the pedestals with a bank of three drawers, all of the drawers have stylish turned knob handles. The back of the desk with faux drawers and handles. Beneath the bottom drawer there is an elegant moulding and the pedestals rest on enclosed plinths with concealed castors beneath.
