Circa 1870, Victorian mahogany hinged top work box. The square topped table has a chamfered edge, is hinged and opens to reveal several compartments lined in paper. The centre section is covered in velour and opens to show a section for wool. Below the top is a dummy drawer with flamed mahogany front and an escutcheon which has the locking device. There are 4 turned finials underneath the top. The workbox is supported on a very elaborate tripod base with cabriole legs and 2 finials on each leg.
