Circa 1880, Victorian barometer with makers plaque on the front. It reads 'Howard James and Company, Regent Street, W.' The whole piece is contained in a faux ships wheel with matte gilding and in the centre is a silver dial with the adjustments. The wheel moves separately from the central dial for adjusting the variations in weather. It stands on a pair of trestle ends which are linked by the central bezel and all stands on an oval enclosed base with a concave section and felt beneath.
