Art Deco tray, marquetry and bone, 1930 - France Extraordinary wooden tray with fruitwood and bone marquetry, made circa 1930 in France. It features magnificent, intricate geometric motifs directly reminiscent of the purest Art Deco style. This style, which flourished in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterized not only by its geometric shapes, but also by its symmetry and use of luxurious materials, as well as its emphasis on contrasting colors and textures. The central star motif is particularly striking. The structure of the top, in particular the black bars that surround it in a sort of balustrade, emphasizes straight lines, an essential aspect of the style that eschewed gentle curves in favor of more defined, angular forms. The use of high-quality marquetry and the inclusion of materials such as bone testify to a design that strives for luxury and sophistication. Ideal as a decorative element and as a functional tray. Surface technology: Marquetry, wood Style: Art Deco Period: 1930s Country of origin: France Good condition considering age. Some outer bars slightly wonky. Dimensions : L:50cm D:30cm
