Circa 1900. A walnut George I style library table/desk, providence ex. Rossi Priory, Perthshire. The rectangular top with quarter matching walnut, herringbone crossbanding with shaped corners and a simple fore edge. Configuration of one long drawer with mirror matched walnut and herringbone crossbanding. The drawer has an elegant cast brass and engraved escutcheon and a pair of handles of similar shape, this is flanked by a pair of drawers each side. A fine shaped knee hole with double beading, the shaped frieze continues around the front and sides. The back of the desk is polished, all resting on four elegant cabriole legs with beaded quarter blocks, carved shells on the knees and finishing on elegant foot.
