This framed piece of art is a delicate study of a 'Cow at rest' in pencil and watercolour by a listed artist.

James Orrock (1829-1913) was mentioned on a recent BBC programme 'Fake or Fortune' whilst trying to establish if John Constable had painted a piece or if Orrock had.James Orrock was massively influenced by Turner's style of painting. Even though Turner died when Orrock was only 21 years old, he went on to write a very creditable biography about him.He was educated in medicine, surgery and dentistry at Edinburgh University. He practised as a dentist in Nottingham before enrolling at the Nottingham School of Design.
