Circa 1920, top quality mahogany bedside cabinet by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. The top has matching flame mahogany veneers and a three quarter gallery. On the fore edge is typical Whytock & Reid carving in the form of flowers. There is a single drawer with a raised panel facing and matching veneers similar to the top, and 2 bronze finial style knob handles. Beneath this is a cupboard door again with matching veneers and a bronze pull handle. There is a small apron which is solid and slightly shaped. The front legs have carved flowers on the knees and taper down to form typical Whytock & Reid stylised feet. The back legs are similar. Wonderful example of Whytock & Reid furniture. Excellent condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
