Circa 1910, very stylish mahogany toilet mirror in the style of Sir Robert Lorimer made by Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh. The shaped mirror has a hand bevelled edge contained in a mahogany frame of similar shape. The mirror is held in position by two tapering uprights which have a carved front and are capped with small well formed finials. The swing section is held in place by two brass axe head drops. Beneath the mirror is a scooped out dish for jewellery and trinkets. The whole piece stands on a trestle base finishing on a simple pad foot. The back of the mirror has a fielded panel. Excellent colour and good condition.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
