Circa 1830, William IV rosewood davenport with stamp of M. Willson. With a three quarter rosewood gallery with turned balustrades and a beaded top rail. The green leather slope has tooling and gilding and opens to show a mahogany polished interior with 4 drawers, 2 of which are dummy, each with tiny turned knob handles. The front and back of the davenport have fielded panels with a rosewood section inside and the desk is polished on all sides. On the left, is a full length pull out slide for storage and 4 dummy drawers. There is a stamp to the top drawer of M. Willson, 68 Great Queen Street. Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
