Circa 1880. William and Mary style figured walnut bookcase/cabinet. Surmounted by a moulded and crossbanded cornice above a secret, full-length cushion drawer over two glazed doors with rectangular astragal glazing and brass escutcheon, opening to interior with sliding shelves. A separate base with thumb mouldings and full-length drawer with herringbone inlay and original cast brass drop handles. All supported on barley twist supports with crinoline stretchers over neat bun feet. Lovely degree of “wear”, mellow colour and great patina.
