    Antique four Fresco Paintings

    A set of four original finely painted Roman Wall Frescos in the manner of Michaelangelo Maestri of Pompeii excavations. Highly detailed Wall Frescos watercolour paintings on laid paper from the Neopolitan School beginning in the 1720s there was a great interest in ancient roman art discovered with the excavations of ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, which have been preserved, frozen in time when they were buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 76AD. Drawings and paintings of Frescos served as souvenirs for Grand Tour travellers and provided inspiration to neoclassical architects, and decorative art designs.
