The 19th century neo-Gothic style desk pulpit is a work of decorative and applied art that is distinguished by its exquisite workmanship and detailing. The pulpit body is made of gilded brass and is installed on a square base that rests on four claw-shaped legs, giving the structure a majestic and monumental appearance. Along the perimeter of the pulpit there is an elegant turned decor with elements of partially openwork foliage and floral motifs, which adds a sense of lightness and airiness to the overall massiveness of the product. Architectural elements complement the composition, creating the impression of an ancient Gothic building in miniature. The central part of the pulpit facade is a blue enamel cross, decorated with coat of arms lilies, symbolizing royal power and purity. In the center of the cross there is a red cabochon, which brings an accent of bright color and emphasizes the importance of the composition. The analogion itself is engraved with a similar cross, maintaining harmony and continuity in the design. The dimensions of the pulpit when closed are: height - 8.5 cm, length - 25 cm, depth - 28.5 cm. When open, its height increases to 25 cm, length - to 26 cm, and the depth remains the same - 28.5 cm. It represents a compromise of chamber solemnity, with a picturesque ensemble of hallmarks - deeds and miracles of the saint, in gold. Around the middle of the traditional iconography with a semi-figure of the saint and the marks of the Mother of God and Christ, there are 16 hallmarks of ascetic life. Including: Christmas, baptism, saint; Instruction to a wife with a dry hand, learning to read and write, ordination of a miracle worker, ordinance as priest, deliverance of three maidens from famine, appearance to Emperor Constantine twice in a dream, deliverance of three husbands from execution, miracle of St. Nicholas about three icons, salvation of Demetrius from drowning, salvation of the Patriarch of Athos from drowning , the deliverance of the son of Basil from the Saracens, the miracle of the impoverished publican, the assignment and transfer of the relics of St. Nicholas. The overall harmonic structure of the icon, decorative integrity, delicate color balance - demonstrates the high level of skill of the icon painter, who is familiar with the Mstera painting practice.
