Circa 1860, mid Victorian Louis XV style seven piece parlour suite consisting of giltwood canapes (sofa) and set of 6 giltwood fauteuils (armchairs). The armchairs, made from carved and gilded hardwood, have a cartouche shaped back, carved top crest and out swept arms. They have a stuffover serpentine upholstery seat and a very fine needlepoint on the back. The shaped apron leads on to foliate carved scroll feet. The sofa is of similar design with similar carving and upholstery.
