9ct gold match book cover

This unusual 9ct gold match book cover is fully hallmarked with import marks for London 1925. It is also marked Goldsmiths and Silversmiths of London. The design around the complete body shows an engine turned decoration. The edges of the box are chamfered. The catch and hinge to the cover are both in excellent order. There are some matches that have been left in from days gone by and they are advertising Barnardos Homes. The inside cover is plain, although there is a slight in personnel inscription J to L 28/8/26. At the base of the box, there is an edging around the striking part of the match book.
