This pocket/desk cheroot holder is clearly halmarked for Birmingham 1899. It is made by Henry Mathews, Vittoria Street, Birmingham. The holder is covered in a pattern that is regular. The engraving is also continued underneath. The holder sits on four ball feet, and has a slight curve to it's overall style. This appears to be to aid the placing of this item in a pocket. The cartouche is engraved to the front with a personnel message with the initials SW. From Janie Dec 16. 1902
