The hand colored engraved paper dial with calendrical and zodiacal scales giving seasons, solstices and equinoxes as well as the sizes of the planets and a comet, the tellurian above this on a multi wheel geared mechanism, with engraved paper dials, ivory earth ball, ivory moon on an inclined orbit, brass sun ball, in a fitted mahogany case with a pull out mahogany box for an unguarded orrery attachment, the planets and satellites in ivory. With the original booklet on the description and use of a new portable orrery a 1787 publication by William Jones with two folding pates and 4pp of his catalogue of instruments in modern binding
