Circa 1825. A good pair of George IV mahogany fold over tea tables. The rectangular tops with rounded corners and reeded fore edge are hinged and open to reveal the solid mahogany interior. The tops swivel and beneath is a small concealed drawer. To the front is a shaped frieze with mirror matched mahogany cross banding and finishing with a small rondel which is connected by a ring turned stretcher, which runs from the front to the back to the tables, all on a large ring turned and tapering column which rests on a concave platform base with a simple beaded fore edge, resting on four shaped feet which sit on brass casters.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
