This is an antique canapé sofa. A Continental, ebonised wing settee in Louis XV revival taste, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1870.

• Exudes quality and the quintessential revival taste of Louis Xv craftsmanship
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order, benefiting from gentle use
• Dashing ebonised show frame adorned with relief carved leaf patterns
• Superb quality cotton line fabric in light cream hues, professionally upholstered

• Generous seating for three, with a high cushioned back rest
• Cushioned arms flow gracefully towards pronounced knuckles
• Each seat defined by the serpentine front cushion
• Tasteful golden brocade trim adorns the fabric throughout

• Contrasting against the frame, golden beading accentuates the arms and front apron
• Double scrolled aprons add a distinctive touch to the lower rails
• Raised upon six cabriole legs, arranged across the front as a four, and a pair to the rear
• Riding upon brass castors from beneath striking ormolu mounts
