This is an antique North America map. A USA, framed lithography atlas engraving of the continent by JH Colton, dating to the Victorian period and later, circa 1860.

• Fascinating, large framed map of the North American continent
• Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order
• Set within a quality, later frame behind clear, bright glass
• Shows the countries of Canada, United States of America and Mexico
  
  
• Resplendent with great mid-19th century detail, as compiled by Joseph Hutchins Colton
• Colton (1800 - 1893) was commissioned to draft up the map for the Clerks Office of the District Court, New York
• Coloured detail used sparingly to accentuate the map
• Dressed to the rear hanging wire for ease of mounting

This is a superb antique North America map, presenting the continent as it stood in the 19th century with fine detail. Delivered ready to display.
