Art nouveau Rare Germany, Furtwangen/Black Forest Mahogany Mantel Clock Circa 1895.
It is very rare to find a clock from this period still with the original four bended window corner pieces and with three original bevelled glass windows in the front door, and bow fronted glass in front of the dial.
With very stylish design also the typical art nouveau woman’s head and flowers in the pendulum bob.
The fully cleaned and serviced movement stamped for LFS = Lorenz Furtwangler & Sohne.
Lorenz Furtwangler ( 1807-1866) founder of the company in 1836, his son’s continued with the company till 1929.
The type of stamp used on the movement of LFS was used before 1900.
The stand of the gong Coil is also signed with the initials LFS.
In fully working order, striking on a gong every 30 minutes.
All over in wonderful original used condition, with a beautiful original old used patination.
With silvered dial and original hands.
