The body of the box is decorated with exquisite palace scenes that reflect the wealth and sophistication of Chinese culture of that time. LARGE CARVED WOODEN BOOK KNIFE WITH VOIVODA. P.I. SOMOV 1918. Made in the breathtaking spirit of Russian Art Nouveau and conveys the appearance of a thoughtful, daring governor. It is presented almost sculpturally, in three-quarters, with perky cowlicks on the hero’s helmet. The level of plastic work and artistic generalizations betray the hand of a skilled carver, if not a sculptor. Perhaps this is an abbreviation for an artel of carvers or a workshop. A magnificent, aristocratic liqueur bar, spherical in shape, made of Baccarat glass in a gilded bronze case, Belle Époque period. It is a unique ensemble of 4 decanters and 16 conical glasses of the finest glass with lace vine decoration. Placed on a gilded tray, they form the core of a glass sphere with a bell-shaped lid on a hinged mechanism. The original stopper ensures reliable fixation of the lid at any angle. The through motif of a grapevine, frosted etched glass, is effectively complemented by gilded bronze details, combining the delicate fragility and power of a festive representation. Gilded belts with two lion mascarons holding ring-handles in the mouth rest on a pedestal of four lion paws. A wonderful and irreplaceable attribute of a guest room, leisurely conversation, and an aristocratic lifestyle. Baccarat. Late 19th century. Closed dimensions. Height: 37 cm. Its unique design, decorated with brass and tortoiseshell inlays in the Boulle style, makes it an outstanding attribute of a man’s study, created for leisurely conversations and the enjoyment of fine drinks. The bar has a removable gilded insert that holds four bottles for spirits, decorated with golden designs of flowers and stars.
