Circa 1880, large Chinese marble top plant stand. The circular stand has a red variegated marble centre surrounded by a broad carved foliate border and a beaded edge. Below this is a concave apron with open fretwork with foliate carving, over an under shelf, and all standing on four heavily carved legs with lion faces at the top and finishing on ball and claw feet. Sturdy and excellent colour.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981.
