A Beautiful Victorian E.P.N.S Mounted Guest Brothers Biscuit Barrel.

Coiled rope finial with canted rectangular tag inscribed `Biscuits`.
Swing handle.
Prettily engraved with ferns, 16cm high, moulded mark.
A very dark aubergine, almost black, high fired gloss pottery, patented barrel. It was specifically patented to look like glass and the Guest Brothers were glass manufacturers. It is extremely hardwearing.This is a rare item, a similar vase was up for sale in 2008 with a $1100 - $1300 estimate.
