early 20th century small leather topped pedestal desk

Superbly crafted, solid oak pedestal desk c1910. This desk is one of the best examples of its type I have seen for some time. It is solid oak and in lovely original condition with a great patina and feel. The gilt tooled leather top is a cream which has mellowed into deep, rich colour. It’s small proportions make it suitable for most rooms - 121cm wide, 74.5cm deep and 79cm high. The desk is fitted with three solid oak back boards (see penultimate photo) which mean it can be face either way in a room.
The nine drawers run smoothly and still boast their original handles. The whole desk is sectional for easy movement. There is a pullout tray on either side of the footwell which are both unmarked. All in all a very handsome piece.
