fine staffordshire mug with greyhound handle, c.1820

A fine porcelain mug with the handle moulded in the form of a greyhound, produced in Staffordshire around 1820. Decorated with two groups of hand-painted summer flowers in bright enamel colours reserved in a dark blue ground overlaid with richly gilt scrolls and leaves. This piece is unmarked. In excellent, original, sound condition with very minor wear to one or two small areas of the decoration. Please note: the purchase price includes postage and packing.
