french bell shaped clock

This attractive bell shaped clock features an 8 day movement and platform escapement. The case and dial are solid bronze, the case being signed 'ER' on the back plate and inscribed with Latin phrases: DOMINUS VOBISCUM ET AUM SPIRITU TUO (The Lord Be With You And Your Spirit), and PATER NOSTER QUI ES IN CAELIS (Our Father Who Art In Heaven). The dial comprises French cartouche numerals. Very unusual and extremely rare, this lovely old clock was made in Paris, France. Solid cast brass case in the shape of a bell, decorated with ornate leaves, scrolled lines, and figures. Copper dial with white enamel cartouches and black Roman numerals. Hinged convex glass door with bevelled edge set in decorative brass frame.
