Circa 1870, fine and unusual French kingwood and gilt-metal mounted vitrine cabinet. In the form of a sedan, the veneered top with undulating edge above a pair of arched, glazed doors with Vernis Martin style panels and enclosing a velvet-lined interior, the sides with similar panels, with cast gilt-metal busts of maidens, pierced mounts and scroll feet applied with sabots.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh.
