Circa 1890. Louis XIV style walnut and marble top serpentine commode. The top with a pink variegated marble insert, with a configuration of four serpentine drawers each with foliate carving, cast brass escutcheon, fine Rococo brass and gilded handles with an elegant beading. The sides with foliate carving on the top, with a reeded fore-edge and paneled sides. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a deep well shaped carved frieze to the front and the sides, resting on a fine pair of carved cabriole legs to the front finishing with a well curved foot.

Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
