Circa 1900, Edwardian walnut dressing table in the French style. The triple mirrors on the top are encased in walnut frames and have bevelled edge glass which follows the shape of the frames. The centre mirror has a carved shell top. These are held in place by two turned uprights, held in position by brass hinges and supports. The top of the uprights have wonderful carved flamed finials. Below are two single drawers each side which are quarter veneered and have brass handles. There is a large walnut surface which has been re-polished and is in good condition. The top has a moulded edge, and below this is an inverted centre with one long drawer and two further shaped drawers left and right. The handles are cast brass and gilded, in the form of swags and tails. There is also carved wood and quarter veneers on each of the drawers. The drawers have mahogany liners. The table stands on four carved cabriole legs with a floral carving on the knees, and a wonderful carved knuckle on the toes, on castors for ease of movement.

Georgian Antiques was founded in 1978 by John Dixon's brother Padriac in a small shop at Jocks Lodge, Meadowbank in Edinburgh, with John joining the business after finishing college in 1981. The business grew so rapidly, they couldn't keep up with their inventory needs. Their goal has been to create a one-stop-shop where designers can complete an entire project from antique lighting to antique furniture to accessories. Scotland's largest antiques warehouse is located in a converted whiskey bond in historic Leith Edinburgh. With 50,000sq ft over five floors we offer a wide range of quality Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian furniture, as well as continental and small decorative items. Our stock is constantly changing.
