Circa 1890, stylish neat sized French Vernis Martin style side cabinet. The red mottled marble top has a three quarter wrap around gallery with open pierced work. Beneath this a ribbed brass frame, and cast brass quarter brackets. There is a single glazed door with a brass bezel and inside is a velvet lined interior with 3 shelves. At the bottom on the front there is a hand painted panel depicting a gent presenting a lady with a bouquet of flowers, and on the sides there are 2 further painted panels depicting country scenes. There are cast brass mounts on the knees at both sides and a stylish casting beneath the door with a mythical face. The whole piece stands on 4 cabriole legs with simple cast sabots at the front.
